Updates and New Seasons
Hey everyone, I hope you’ve been well! As we move into the fall, I want to let you know that I am excited to be participating in a fellowship over the next eight months that will demand much of my reading and writing attention outside work. Consequently, my writing here, I imagine, will become more infrequent than it already has been in 2022. I enjoy writing these posts, and I do hope to be able to write more over these coming months and years, but I think it’s always important to set reasonable expectations.
I will participate in the Leaf Fellowship here in Greenville, SC, an “eight-month faith, work, & theology discipleship program.” I’m excited about all that I’ll learn during that program.
In the interim, if you’re hungry for more content in the same spirit as what I’ve shared, here are a few substacks that you might also enjoy (and that I’ve cited liberally throughout this newsletter):
I got into this writing because 15 years ago, while in college, I discovered the writings of Marshall McLuhan and his followers, which changed how I think about society. I’m happy to say that those resources I’ve listed above are just a sample of the many people continuing the excellent work of wrestling with how our media experience shapes us and our culture. I hope that I’ve whetted your appetite for these subjects.
I also want to shout out to my partner in this project Diana Holder. She has given me thoughtful feedback throughout these writings; you would not recognize them without her presence here.
This is beginning to sound like a goodbye, which it is not, so I had better cut it off here. If you have 5 minutes, I would love to hear from you all about any of the favorite things I’ve wrested with here over the past 50+ newsletters.
Feel free to peruse the archive to jog your memory of any that stood out to you.
See you again soon!
